In a world dominated by mass production and overconsumption, China’s identity as “the world’s factory” often leads to a narrow awareness of its craftsmanship. The label “made in China” is frequently linked to mass-produced goods, overshadowing the value of handmade artistry.
Crafted Escapes highlights the journey of 15 Chinese craft makers who have “escaped” the pressures of commercialization, urbanization and oppressice work environments. Their works reflect a return to intentional, personal creation, offering a deeper understanding of their creative processes and life philosophies, beyond the noise of outer world, and embracing their current state of flow.
