Cinque (five) founders Cin Liu and Vincent Tam, with backgrounds in architecture and metalsmithing, practise jewellery and object making as a form of memory archive. From the moment we are born, the 5 fingers of our hands absorb information and shape our early memories of the world. Conversely, Cinque uses this instinctive form of communication to express delicate, fragile memories through the temperature of our 5 fingers, sealing them into the material permanence of our work. The pieces record the transformation of natural and cultural relics through wax and metal forming. Handmade and cast in London, they create new connections and tangible interpretations of memories, accessed from the touch of skin.
